Historic Tour Photos

On June 22, 2013 members of St. Peter's in Washington Parish held a historical tour of the church and grounds, which gave visitors some insight into the founding and development of the local area and specifically Washington Parish.  Washington Parish was the first geographical area in the U.S. to be named after the famous Washington family.  St. Peter's was built in 1848 and consecrated in 1849.  It is a beautiful example of the early Gothic Revival style of architecture, and houses a rare Henry Erben organ, which has been in continuous use since its installation over 160 years ago.

Cathy, Judy, and Gene lead the tour of the inside architecture of St. Peter's.

Helen views and explains the historic gravestones at St. Peter's.
